If you suffer from relationship issues, anxiety, depression, anger management, low self esteem or are experiencing life’s transitions you may think that you are lost in a hopeless battle against your own thoughts and feelings and are blocked from living your life fully. There is a way out.
I offer insight & skill building psychotherapy to help clients learn healthy strategies for coping and alleviating intrusive thoughts, emotional overwhelm, couples conflict, social challenges, workplace stress and workplace relationships.
Fortunately, the more you learn about the commonalities behind these uncomfortable experiences, the more you will come to understand that there are ways to control your thoughts and relieve the emotional and physical effects of the condition.
Just by taking the step of reaching out, the process begins
My view of mental health is humanistic, spiritual and mindfulness based. I primarily use techniques adapted from psychodynamic and the evidence-based approaches of cognitive behavioral theory.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy represents a solution focused approach with significant breakthrough in the treatment and prevention of depression, anxiety, relationship issues and other psychological disorders.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy views emotional problems as influenced by negative or extreme thought patterns. These patterns have frequently become so habitual that they are experienced as automatic and go unnoticed by the individual. While in treatment, patients are taught how to uncover these negative patterns and replace them with more adaptive ways of viewing life events. Through this process, patients learn self-help techniques that can produce rapid symptom shifts, solve current life problems, and improve self-esteem.
Psychodynamic psychology looks behind the behavior and thought to unfold the unconscious motives that create defense mechanisms and negative repetitive behaviors. Most people experience a deeper self-awareness and come to a feeling of wholeness.
Basically, together we learn why you do what you do and develop an individual plan to gain the tools to stay true to yourself while correcting unwanted behaviors to navigate through life’s challenges with grace and dignity.
